All Shriners are invited to a lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays at The Fish Hopper restaurant.
The monthly Shrine Club business meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Elks Lodge in Kailua-Kona.
All Shriners are invited to attend.
Ibarra addressing Rotary Club
“A Day in the Life of a Judge” will be the topic as 3rd Circuit Court Judge Ronald Ibarra speaks to the Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise on Wednesday.
The club meets upstairs at Humpy’s Restaurant in Coconut Grove Marketplace at 6:45 a.m. every Wednesday. Breakfast is $11, coffee is $5.

Video production orientation slated

Senior ID cards issued in June
The Coordinated Services for the Elderly Program of the Hawaii County Elderly Activities Division will issue senior ID cards for seniors 60 years and older from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Kailua-Kona Kmart.
Cards will also be issued from 9 to 11 a.m. June 9 at St. Jude’s Church in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates; 9 to 11 a.m. June 9 at Kohala CSE building; 9 to 11 a.m. June 10 at L. Yoshimatsu Senior Center in Waimea; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 18 at West Hawaii Civic Center Building B; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 27 at Yano Hall in Captain Cook.

Biologist speaks on heart-brain connection Wednesday
Author, biologist and educator Carla Hannaford will present a program on heart-brain connection from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Kealakekua Public Library.
Researchers have discovered that the heart controls the brain, not the other way around. Hannaford will share scientific research regarding the heart and brain connection and how to maintain heart coherence to live creative and growth-filled lives. The program, for ages 10 and older, is offered free to the public.
